I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Smith College School for Social Work and my Bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings in New York City and completed psychoanalytic psychotherapy programs at the Karen Horney Clinic and Object Relations Institute. I wrote my Master’s thesis on the work of French psychoanalyst André Green and have presented at national conferences on clinical and theoretical psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. I currently work in my private practice and as a clinical supervisor in NY and MA.

About me

I primarily practice psychoanalytic psychotherapy, an evidence-based treatment that utilizes insight and the relationship between therapist and patient to inspire change at a fundamental psychological level.

My role as your therapist is to offer a safe, trusting environment and to help you learn about yourself. I will help you face difficult memories, thoughts and feelings in order to remove inner obstacles and break harmful patterns. We will work together to develop a true understanding of who you are and to inspire freedom, strength and joy in living.

I practice therapy through video and phone calls. Teletherapy is an excellent and convenient treatment option for most people. When sessions are in the right setting (a private, quiet room with limited distractions) teletherapy is especially effective for insight-based treatments like psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

I begin treatment with a free brief phone call to get to know you, tell you about my practice and answer questions you may have. I then schedule two or three 45-minute video consultation sessions with you to discuss your needs, history, goals and my recommendation for treatment. I normally begin meeting with patients for 45 minutes weekly and adjust the length and frequency of sessions as needed. Please contact me if you’d like to get started.
